Intro
Join us for for a 6-day retreat at Club de Patos in Sisal, Mexico.
The experience is an immersion in slow conscious awareness and the pursuit of the simple pleasures of life. Every look, smell, sound, feel, movement and taste is carefully tented to, culminating in a transformative experience, removed from the rush of daily routine.
With its paradisiacal landscape, distinct indigenous art, unique regional style, and undeniable enchanting nature – Sisal, Mexico serves as the perfect backdrop to Roov. Nestled just steps away from the ocean and a lagoon, among ancient Mayan ruins and fresh-water cenotes, this place sits quietly awaiting the curious. With an astute eye and intuition for alignment, she translates cues to guide students into a keen awareness. Enjoy the day at your leisure. Get to know the property, spend time unwinding at the pool or down at the beach.
In the late afternoon, Cristen and Jen offer an open tutorial workshop where you can ask for assessment, help and guidance for your personal yoga practice. An open group format is encouraged so others have the opportunity to learn from common challenges; privates can be arranged for those seeking more solitary support.
Take a sunset swim and shower before dinner on the terrace under the overhanging trees.

Get the morning started with what you need for nourishment pre-practice set out in the dining room. Cristen will lead you in a cleansing bhakti flow.
Pack your beach bag and prepare for adventure. We explore the mangroves with their crystal-clear water and idyllic swimming holes. Brunch this morning is on a private island. A picnic and the scene is set for you.

Accommodations
Nestled between the Gulf of Mexico and the Cienaga Reserve, hotel Club de Patos an ideal hideaway that shares our passion for good architecture and creativity. It is a soulful place to stay where ordinary is a no no. Small-family-owned independent of lifestyle and fine details, the Club is created by those who dared to dream. It’s a modernist architectural den lost in the wilderness of a luxurious coastline. The grounds and gardens are landscaped with areas to sit and relax, and hammocks to nap in. The pool doesn’t have a bad angle and the properties path to the beach feels like a mix of an old Patagonia catalog mixed with a modern Architectural Digest feature. There are organic vegetable gardens, fruit orchards, colorful beds of tropical flowers and even an apiary. More of a hacienda or club than a hotel there is enough space to get away or stay close and share time with new friends.
Sustainability designed to offer a feeling of an individual area without detriment to the environment footprint, the nine suites with ocean views and private patios are set in perfect balance with nature. Every room is an austere abode complemented with a curated selection of luxury amenities. Beds are sumptuously comfortable and the outdoor showers transform daily grooming into a treat. Few details beat falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach outside. The whole place is so special, you’ll want to take it in over and over, and it still won’t be enough.
Food
All meals are made with locally sourced ingredients, supporting nearby communities including from the Patos edible garden and apiary.
Hot water, lemon, teas, juices, coffee, rusks and fruits will be available prior to morning practice.
Brunch consists of pastries baked by the chef, an assortment of granola, fresh seasonal fruits, cheeses, bread, juices, smoothies, coffee, teas, freshly laid eggs and veggies from the organic garden onsite as well as more hearty regional specialties and options.
Lunches are excluded to allow a freedom for activities; snacks and midday bitings are available on your own account.
All dinners on and off property are included, farm-to-fork or sea-to-fork with a local emphasis and set under the moonlit night; they are a time to gather, share and connect. Health is encouraged and so is balance. Should you feel the need to imbibe, you can sip handmade cocktails stirred with artisanal mezcal (on your own account) as you watch sun-dappled palms sway in the ocean breeze.
